I've been working on the cinematography. One thing that I realized as I was watching "The Trout" by Christopher Nupen, and this is something that has been on my mind for a while, is that trying to show closeups of the musicians doesn't really work that well when there aren't any musicians to show. This is part of the reason I've been struggling to use his cinematography as reference.
An Idea I had to help with this was to put an instrument in the origin of the music particles. This would help the audience have a point of focus as well. For now, there are boxes as placeholders, but after finalizing my shots, I'll start modeling(?) the instruments.
I've also worked on the choreography of the band, trying to give more movement to the artists. Towards this end, I've added a slight rotation to the placeholder cubes. While the performers in "The Trout" are more stationary (with rapid body movements), I want my performers to be more active, so I'll soon add a bit of meandering movement as well.
